Pilion Summer Academy 2008 offers you a wonderfully relaxing holiday, far away from mass tourism, in one of the most stunning and unspoiled areas of Greece. At the foot of Mount Pilion, the mythical summer home of the gods, an exciting, cultural program for all levels will be conducted by internationally successful tutors. The open air workshops and accommodation will be in the beautiful Leda Club which is located directly on the beach, next to the charming secluded village of Horton. Dance and Body Harmony combine with the tranquillity and beauty of your surroundings to create a unique and unforgettable experience.
THE PROGRAM
Our multilingual tutors are highly competent professionals who have many years of experience.They approach their classes with great enthusiasm and are totally committed to their students. Each class member, from beginner to advanced, will receive individual attention in a relaxed atmosphere. We particularly want to encourage beginners to involve themselves fully in all aspects of Dance and Body Harmony, together with the exploration and development of their creative abilities.
The program includes Tango and Greek Dance, Contact Improvisation, African & Butoh Dance and Body Harmony with elements of Qigong and Yoga as well as an interesting combination of Contact Improvisation with Tango. You will improve your technique, learn new dance forms and expand your repertoire in a fun, relaxing atmosphere, thus enhancing your sense of well-being.
The social program includes Greek and Moroccan evenings, a Milonga Party, as well as lectures and discussion groups with guest tutors. A dance performance conducted by the course participants will form the highlight of our final event.
THE ACCOMMODATION
The small cottages of the Leda Club are built and decorated in the unique Pelion style. The apartments are available for 2 – 5 persons and are also suitable for families and groups.They all have self-catering facilities, air-conditioning, fridge, TV, telephone and Internet access. Each has its own private balcony or terrace with wonderful sea views. The beauty of this magical place combines with the comfort and convenience of the Leda Complex with restaurant, bar and swimming pool to make your stay a memorable one. Your family is welcome to join you, please contact us in advance for reservations. Course participants have also the option of making their own private arrangements for accommodation.
